  • 'Melo or 'Bron?

I am sorry if this has been discussed here, but I couldnt find it.

Who would you guys pick as the RoY?

Lebron won it, you think he should have?

I didnt really care who won it. I do think it was over before it began.

One thing I think is a lame argument was that "Lebron had more pressure on him the whole season". So that gives him the edge because the fans and the media put pressure on him? Thats unfair to Melo and is an irrelevant, terrible point.

I feel bad for Dwayne Wade. Any other year he wins this award. He played very well.

To me, it's a better argument than the one that says Carmelo deserves it because his team got in the playoffs.

If they played on each others teams....how would the teams do? better? worse?

      I'll stick with LeBron...but it's by a nose.

I wish Carmelo would get in the east or LeBron in the west....those guys going at it would be entertaining.
      Are you on the list?

I think they should share the award. A lot can be said about getting the nuggets into the playoffs in the west. I know one thing, Darko isn't anywhere to be seen.
Asked what he would do differently in Iraq, Kerry said, "Right now, what I would do differently is, I mean, look, I'm not the president, and I didn't create this mess so I don't want to acknowledge a mistake that I haven't made."

          We did discuss this.

Grote, you've got me on record, weeks ago, as saying it'd be Lebron -- no matter what.

This isn't based on performance, but rather hype.
When you say to your neighbor, "We're having a loud party on Saturday night if that's alright with you," what you really mean is, "We're having a loud party on Saturday night."

So Carmelo should win it because he had a better team around him?

            That makes sense.

Yeah, EVERYBODY that had a brain said Lebron would win it.

My question was whether or not people agreed with the selection.

I think its unfair to award it based on hype.

Melo had a much better cast than Lebron, so the playoff thing is a wash.

The west is loaded. Lebron should have been able to get his team into the weak East.

Part of being a valuable player is helping your team win. Same thing happens with the baseball MVP all the time.

i disagree. melo made them better by getting them all involved in the offense. and they made the playoffs in the west, which is tough to do when you're a bottom feeder in the west. in the east, crappy teams make the playoffs all the time. you have to be pretty good to make it in the west.

                    Who is Darko?

Oh yeah, I bet Detroit is kicking themselves in the foot for not picking up Carmelo. They'd have a legitimate championship shot if they had picked him up.

I thought Bron, but I really don't pay that much attention to basketball.

I can only tell you that LeBron and Melo are being set up to be the next Majic and Bird - the only problem is Majic and Bird were both on much better teams. I can't name another future hall of famer on either the Nuggets or the Cavaliers. Without getting to the promised land of the finals - their careers will always be questioned. Whichever team picks up a hall of fame caliber free agent this offseason will have the best shot of their player - moving into the higher echelon of NBA players. If I asked you who was better T-Mac of Kobe - most say Kobe. If the teams where reversed - most would say T-Mac - because Orlando doesn't win.

As far as the ROY - you can't argue against either one - so it is a push to me.
