  • Suppan v. Miller

So who shows up, Kansas City Suppan or Pittsburg Suppan? Is it going to matter?

By the way, I hate that damn ballpark in Houston. Goofy outfield walls, a hill with a flagpole in center, and a Lionel train running around the top of the stadium.

It's like a minature golf course.

It's early, but this is a big series.
    I'm always right.

If it were later in the yeer I would have to root for the Burds.

I don't like MM Park either.

I swear when they first opened it, you half expected an alligator pit in the middle of CF too.

I am nervous about this game. We really need to start beating the Astros one of these days.

Won't matter what Suppan does if we can't score a run off Miller.

This is what I'm worried about.

Our offense tears up bad pitchers. We don't do so well against good pitchers. Neither does anyone else, but the Cardinals stats are so gaudy, I think maybe we get a false view of how effective this offense is.

So one vote for Suppan to rule tonight, and Howard Cosell chimes in against our pitcher's chances.

I'm thinking this might be another tough evening for the good guys.

Hopefully he pitches as well as he did last time out. If so, then our offense just needs to find a way to get on base.

Does anyone know whether Ray will be back in the line-up tonight?

                  Thanks

For the record, I still like the Suppan signing. He'd make a great #5 starter.

Ordinarily, Miller wouldn't scare me much. After all, he did allow the Cardinals two hits in seven innings last week.

But it was a long flight from St. Louis to Houston and JimEd et al had to sleep in unfamiliar beds, maybe even with unfamiliar partners. So they might just be a little tired tonight.

But that's okay. We have our stopper tomorrow.
