Georgetown Hires Thompson's Son As Coach

WASHINGTON - Hoping to revive its basketball program, Georgetown hired John Thompson III, the son of the only coach to lead the Hoyas to a national title. The younger Thompson, Princeton's coach since 2000, was to be introduced by Georgetown at a news conference Tuesday.

The younger Thompson didn't do all that well at Princeton. I don't see this as being a great hire by Georgetown.

He did win the league title this year if I'm not mistaken.

But I agree, not sure if it's a good hire.
