  • The beer thread

I'll start this thread out with a random picture of a cat:

I'm currently enjoying an Anheuser-Busch Brew House Lager, a special beer brewed by the brewmasters of the A-B brewery for employees and friends. I teach a kid who's dad works at the brewery, and he gave me a few cases of this special limited edition beer as a belated birthday/Christmas present. It's not bad, but it's no Carlsberg....

    What are you drinking?

    What are your favorite beers?

      Shiner Bock.

      Texas beer.

      Anyone else had this stuff?

      Where's Beavis? Shiner rocks.

I've become a fan of the Rolling Rock light. It's on sale for dirt cheap here, so that is the beer of choice. When I'm not being a woman and not counting calories and carbs, I prefer Boddington's English Ale and Grolsch. Blue Moon is also tasty with an orange. Another good beer is Fat Tire and Sunshine Wheat, made by a micro-brewery in Ft. Collins, CO. Can't find it east of STL so I am shit out of luck here at school.

New Belgium is the brewery that makes the Fat Tire and Sunshine Wheat.... both are quality beers.

I took (re: stole) a lot of the Sunshine Wheat lip balm that New Belgium had the St. Louis Microfest, and still have a few tubes of it. It's made from the wheat after it's been processed, and has a beer flavor.

It's awesome stuff - I'm also East of the Mississippi, and if I'm ever in need of a fix, I just have to cross the river and indulge....

            Weekends were made for Michelob!

I worked for A-B for eight years before leaving in 2000.

All I drink is Bud, Bud Light and Michelob.

Foreign beers are usually skunked by the time they reach our shelves and most of the domestic brews are lab experiments. Quit trying to be cool and just start drinking the best beer in the world.

A-B really is the world's best brewer.

When I want to go out on a limb, I am pretty fond of the Rasberry at the Trail Head brewery in St Charles.

I agree that Shiner Bock is good stuff. But I even more agree that Boddington's Ale rocks.

I never get tired of Guinness. I always have some of that on hand -- 15 pack for $15 at Sams!

              Fullers ESB is good too.

I had Shiner for the first time about 4 years ago on a trip down to Texas. I had the Shiner Bock and loved it...

What do you think of the Anheuser World Select?

I've had a few (thanks to the A-B employee), and I don't think that they're too bad....
