I don't understand why they made the CBA expire in September. That expiration date wasn't because of the World Cup; it was decided upon when Bettman decided to extend this CBA in 1998.

The NHL now is going to have to sign players in the offseason even though they have no idea what the financial future of the league will be when these players finally play a game for their teams. If they don't, you can bet the NHLPA will follow the 1980s lead of the MLBPA and claim collusion.

June or July will tell the tale.

If nobody is signed, the fix is in.
Which actually puts the Blues in a bind to sign Pronger... I think they'll do it.. Just b/c they'd be seen as morons for letting him walk.. But it still puts them in a tough spot, somewhat.

Difference.. Management didn't want Hull around (at least Q didn't).. They do want Pronger around.
From that standpoint, yes, you are correct...

From a financial standpoint, for an organization that's looking to cut salary, nothing will surprise me...but I 'think' he'll be qualified...
