  • Is Hockey Shut Down Next Year or Year After?

So when are you guys going to get a reprieve?

Is the NHL folding after this season or NEXT season?

This fall - i.e. next season or after this season.

    Confused still?

I wouldn't go as far as saying they're gonna fold.. But I'm not counting on an 04-05 season...

The CBA ends in September, so if there were a lockout, it would be for the 2004-2005 season.

I was being intentionally over the top. =]

          But thanks for the answer.

I'm anticipating there not being another Blues game for at least two years.

Though it'll suck to not have hockey... It'll be worth it to miss a season or two if they can fix it.. I just hope they don't go a long time and then the owners cave.

There'll be some significant downtime for hockey and some NHL execs fell it will be @ least a year...it won't fold the entire league, but instead of contraction, the NHL will likely 'let' a few franchises die...the strategy is sorta a 'survival of the fittest' deal....

I wouldn't count on the owners to cave...it'll be the NHLPA b/c they really don't have a choice...

Why does the CBA end in September and not right after this season?

World Cup of Hockey would be my guess....

June or July will tell the tale.

If nobody is signed, the fix is in.
And, frankly, it has never occured to me that "winning" a debate is important, or that I should be hurt when someone like Airshark or kah, among others (for whom winning a pseudo debate or declaring intellectual superiority over invisible others is obviously very important) ridicule me.
