  • B.T. Rice advocates people arming themselves

St. Louis clergy group urges peace with police, Stance follows pastor's remark about citizens arming themselves

Rice is dispicable. Mokwa looks even more idiotic after allying himself with Rice at that press conference involving the officer shooting. How is Rice tolerated by the clergy coalition and even his own congregation?

almost as ridiculous as letting an unmitigated racist like yourself into law enforcement.
    Are you on the list?

I've heard more than one person call B T Rice an dishonest idiot. I hope he has an apology coming out soon. I am all for arming yourself against dishonest individuals - but I don't normally put the police in that boat.

          Rice is a race hustler.
And, frankly, it has never occured to me that "winning" a debate is important, or that I should be hurt when someone like Airshark or kah, among others (for whom winning a pseudo debate or declaring intellectual superiority over invisible others is obviously very important) ridicule me.

A couple members of the black clergy association have distanced themselves from Rice's comments. The Rev's. Earl Nance and Sammie Jones both issued statements urging cooperation and peaceful resolve between the police and black community.

What is it about ministers named Rice in this town? One is black, the other white. Both are kooks.

Thankfully Larry hasn't started arming the homeless...
. . . and to tell you this: I work with gays, have friends who are gay, go to church with gays. Most of them are aware that I believe that homosexual behavior is sin. Some of them actually agree. Most don't. It's OK . . . because they also know or at least have been made aware of my multitude of sins: adulterous heart, lustful and covetous behavior, wicked pride, angry spirit . . . do I need to go on?

                  Schwah,

                  Let me be clear.

I'm all for law-abiding citizens shooting criminals.

I believe that Rice's comments are misguided, as he appears to be identifying the police as the chief threat to the people he represents.

The police are no bigger threat than the IRS, INS, Treasury Department, and many other organs of big gubbermint.

And, if racist cops (of course there are some) would suddenly reform overnight, would the problems of Rice's constituents suddenly disappear?

The police don't pose the threat to the black community that the "gangstas" do.

I'm all for people keeping their guns in their house.

If, for some reason, people are allowed to carry a weapon in public, I'm all for them being prosecuted to the fullest if they injure or kill someone.

There's a reason why the US does not allow vigilantism.

                        John,

I agree 100%. Rice is an idiot and the cops are not the problem for the majority of Blacks. What Rice is doing is putting his foot in his considerable mouth -
