        U2 flat out rocks:

If you twist and turn away
If you tear yourself in two again
If I could, yes I would
        If I could, I would
        Let it go
        Surrender
        Dislocate

        If I could throw this
        Lifeless lifeline to the wind
        Leave this heart of clay
        See you walk, walk away
        Into the night
        And through the rain
        Into the half-light
        And through the flame

        If I could through myself
        Set your spirit free
        I'd lead your heart away
        See you break, break away
        Into the light
        And to the day

        To let it go
        And so to fade away
        To let it go
        And so fade away

        I'm wide awake
        I'm wide awake
        Wide awake
        I'm not sleeping
        Oh, no, no, no

If you should ask then maybe they'd
Tell you what I would say
True colors fly in blue and black
Bruised silken sky and burning flag
Colors crash, collide in blood shot eyes

If I could, you know I would
        If I could, I would
        Let it go...

        This desperation
        Dislocation
        Separation
        Condemnation
        Revelation
        In temptation
        Isolation
        Desolation
        Let it go

        And so fade away
        To let it go
        And so fade away
        To let it go
        And so to fade away

        I'm wide awake
        I'm wide awake
        Wide awake
        I'm not sleeping
        Oh, no, no, no

            And so she woke up
Woke up from where she was
            Lying still
            Said I gotta do something
            About where we're going

            Step on a steam train
Step out of the driving rain, maybe
Run from the darkness in the night
Singing ha, ah la la la de day
Ah da da da de day
            Ah la la de day

            Sweet the sin
            Bitter taste in my mouth
            I see seven towers
But I only see one way out

You got to cry without weeping
            Talk without speaking
            Scream without raising your voice

You know I took the poison
            From the poison stream
Then I floated out of here
Singing...ha la la la de day
Ha la la la de day
            Ha la la de day

            She runs through the streets
            With her eyes painted red
Under black belly of cloud in the rain
In through a doorway she brings me
White gold and pearls stolen from the sea
            She is raging
            She is raging
And the storm blows up in her eyes
            She will...

            Suffer the needle chill
            She's running to stand...

            Still.

"You ain't a beauty but hey, you're all right."

Tough call is right. I probably like more U2 stuff on balance, but the stuff I like by Springsteen I like more than any individual thing U2 has done.

The Wild, The Innocent and the E Street Shuffle and Born to Run are about as good as rock and roll gets. Slowly, after those records, Springsteen decided, it seems to me, that he should make the music less interesting. This culminated with Born in the U.S.A., an ubelievably overrated record. Is there a more boring song than Dancing in the Dark? Or Pink Cadillac? Or Glory Days? Same tempo, boring music, boring words--I really hate that record.

I've always though "Bad" was U2's best song, but they have a lot of good ones.
                I'm always right.

Darkness on the Edge of Town...is just an incredible album.

Saint in the City and Growin' Up..is one of my most favourite tunes..the lyics are just incredible..so gritty and real..nothing U2 has ever written about quite compared to that tune...

I took month-long vacations in the stratosphere..you know it was really hard to hold your breath...

I found the keys to the universe in the engine of an old, parked car...

I dunno...I think Bruce Springsteen is the quinessential American rocker...he's the everyday guy...

And the E Street band is so damn talented...

I don't think Dev gave near as much thouight into seeding this as he would have the NCAA Basketball tourney.
