  • If Reggie can ask about Mexican food...

Ever since Broussards closed a few years back, I haven't found anything to replace it.

I love good spicy cajun food.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks...

Broadway Oyster Bar is an obvious choice, but it's probably not spicy enough to suit you.

    And Bobby's closed, the fucker.

Bobby's was terrific. And I don't like cajun food.

There's a place called the Gumbo Shop on Manchester.

It's owned by an old couple from New Orleans and the gumbo is the best I've had since the last time I was actually *in* New Orleans. Worth checking out, but the hours suck. They're open from 12-5 mon-Sat.

Actually, I've heard the Gumbo Shop is quite good, although it's a tiny little quick-lunch place just west of McKnight.

Used to be a place WAY down south off Broadway somewhere that was quite good as well, but don't remember the name. Had dinner there the night about 10 years ago the Braves blew like an 11-run lead against the Cardinals after the fifth inning or so.

There used to be a place in North County called New Orleans By-You, I think it's still there, and have heard good things about it.
