Last year, Scalia was criticized for refusing to allow television and radio coverage of an event in Ohio in which he received an award for supporting free speech.
How can he refuse to allow himself to be taped? Isn't free speech a provision of the Constitution that he loves so much?

      Quack Quack.

This is all Clinton's fault anyway, because Scalia was doing the same thing under the Clinton administration.

How is taping someone else against their wishes fall under the umbrella of free speech?

OK, maybe it isn't a free speech issue, but if it is a public forum, does he have the right to say he doesn't want to be recorded?

When you're as desperate as they are, you'll throw anything against the wall.
And, frankly, it has never occured to me that "winning" a debate is important, or that I should be hurt when someone like Airshark or kah, among others (for whom winning a pseudo debate or declaring intellectual superiority over invisible others is obviously very important) ridicule me.

I suspect a SCJ, even one appointed by Reagan, is clear on the law in this case.

But I think the main reason is because he hates Muslims and wants them all carted out to the Caspian Sea where some "accident" might befall them.

His speech was about how they stole the election for GWB.

I guess if he makes the caveat that he won't appear if someone might hold him to his words. I'm not sure he did that ahead of time here.
