  • Bush Requests Condi Testimony Sequel

(2004-04-08) -- Despite his initial reluctance to allow National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice to testify publicly before the 9/11 commission, U.S. President George Bush today said he would like to see a sequel.

"I could watch a couple more hours of that movie," said Mr. Bush. "Maybe we could do a whole series of them in primetime."

Meanwhile, Democrats in Congress appealed to the FCC to investigate the live coverage of Dr. Rice's testimony, charging that it may violate election laws.

"It was a free commercial emphasizing the competence and leadership of the Bush administration," said one unnamed Democrat House member. "We demand equal time."

Watch out what you wish for Donkeys.

    Where's Dick2 anyway?
And, frankly, it has never occured to me that "winning" a debate is important, or that I should be hurt when someone like Airshark or kah, among others (for whom winning a pseudo debate or declaring intellectual superiority over invisible others is obviously very important) ridicule me.

Condi looked and sounded terrible. If you guys think her testimony helped Bush in anyway, you have no idea what the people want.

He nails them every single time.

Great to see the race card played against them.

                    They built the scaffold.

                    He hangs them on it.

But, it won't be the perception in Peoria.

She looked arrogant and defensive. She did nothing to help GWB.

Most people watching the hearings don't care about the minutia of whether the title of the PDF meant there was a threat or could be a threat. They care about whether the administration was concerned about stopping the terrorists. She did nothing to convince anyone that they were taking the threats seriously enough, and she was blatantly unapologetic for their failures.

She's exactly like GWB in that regard, and the voters will show how they view that hubris in November.
