Ellen Soeteber out..
The things that will destroy America are prosperity-at-any-price, peace-at-any-price, safety-first instead of duty-first, the love of soft living, and the get-rich-quick theory of life. -TR

I wonder what the story behind this is. Maybe she was too conservative. "Need some wood?" -- George W. Bush, October 8, 2004

Thank God.
Maybe now the paper will get someone in there that understands the role of a journalist is to report the news not give opinions about it. If a journalist wants to give opinions, they should be on the Op Ed page. Ellen never figured that out.Adapt, Improvise, and Overcome..... The only way to live.

I know some people look to me because they know I will be pointing in the wrong direction. My honest assessment:
I never trusted her very much.
I think Soeteber was not very good. One thing I had a short thread about--------
http://www.sportscartel.com/forum/index.ph...ndpost&p=794666
She also had trouble with an editorial cartoonist---I forget his name, but he was very rough on Bush.
If Eric Mink gets her job, I would be really happy about it.
But it probably is just some business consideration.v

She was very well-liked and highly regarded at the Sun-Sentinel, where she was managing editor before going to the P-D. Don't know what happened though -- things never seemed to run smoothly there. Not saying this is to blame, but it's a totally different dynamic at a union paper.
She'll hook on somewhere else.

Very high standards of journalism. Attention to details.
But don't worry, it is not going to happen.v
