The avian flu deal got me thinking ... how often do really bad things that people predict actually happen?
Since I've been on earth, the top three have been:
Ice age
Nuclear war
Another great depression
None have happened.
Overblown by the media? People wrong? Luck? Are we too smart for ourselves, meaning do we think about the most negative thing and then talk about it until it's in the ground.
Did they have things like this in the 1800s? Early 1900s? that weren't tied to religion?
Is man just fatalistic?
