  • Anybody know a good site for 2006 Cardinal salaries?

That is, a good breakdown of how much money is committed at this time to the 2006 payroll, per player?

    Thanks in advance.

The one that usually gets thrown out there is Dugout Dollars, but it doesn't look like that's been updated since 2004.

The one I used to use, hardballdollars.com, seems to have gone bye bye.
The noise was good, but I thought they phoned in a lot of the funk.

"That moron" John Bristor has put together a very good approximation and analysis of the 2006 salary structure. It's pinned on the main forum.

But he's just some dumb fuck...you won't want to go *there* to check it out.

No, actually, I wouldn't. Pretty much avoid that place like the plague. But maybe I'll make an exception in this case.

                      Don't worry--the feeling's mutual.

Too bad JB is more adept than you or else you could have put a table like that together and saved compromising your dignity by visiting BOTB.

::shrugs:: Whatever. I don't know you and have no interest in entering a pissing contest. But since you have an ax to grind, you might note that I did not participate in the other thread on this forum that has you so pissed off.

My comment was directed at you. But it was also meant for the people who pile on Bristor every chance they get, but will have no problems visiting his site to get a look at that salary information because they want it, but are too lazy to put it together themselves.

So I was snarkier to you than I needed to be. No pissing contest meant on this end either.

Jim Edmonds - has about $ 1 mil per year of conract deferred and receives money until 2011. The Cardinals also hold an option that would pay Edmonds $10 million in 2007. A $3 million buyout is attached.
Rick Ankiel - Ankiel added to 40 man to save him from Rule V and 6 year minor legue free agency. He must make 25 man roster out of Spring training or be submitted via waivers for the last time.
Albert Pujols - Defers, $3M of salary out interest from 2007-2010. They monies to be paid out at the rate of $1.2M per year from 2020-2029. Still owed $ 3.25 mil deferred from 2002-2004 and $ 2.25 mil deferred from 2005. The buyout and the new deferal have to be booked over the course of the guarrenteed years ( 1.25 + 2.25 = $ 3.50 ) Thus $ 1.166667 mil has to be booked in 2005, 2006, & 2007. For cash purposes, it is unknown when the deferals are paid. The $ 1.1 mil buyout from the original contract was originally booked from 2002-2005. They get to reverse this out somewhere in the booked column. This one's a mess.
