• Libby Learned About Plame From Cheney

    QUOTE
WASHINGTON, Oct. 24 - I. Lewis Libby Jr., Vice President Dick Cheney's chief of staff, first learned about the C.I.A. officer at the heart of the leak investigation in a conversation with Mr. Cheney weeks before her identity became public in 2003, lawyers involved in the case said Monday.

Notes of the previously undisclosed conversation between Mr. Libby and Mr. Cheney on June 12, 2003, appear to differ from Mr. Libby's testimony to a federal grand jury that he initially learned about the C.I.A. officer, Valerie Wilson, from journalists, the lawyers said.
Sorry Dred -- I don't see any thread title related to this story.

Anyway, I thought this was an interesting development. If true, and if the reports of Libby's testimony are accurate, they may have him on perjury. We should find out soon -- I think the Grand Jury is over at the end of this month.

I put this in another thread, but a buddy of mine is friend's with one of the staff lawyers that works in Cheney's office. He says that everyone there is real nervous.

Well, Cheney isn't going to take the fall, so someone else in the office has to. I'd be real nervous as well not knowing if I did something illegal or not.

Someone should merge this thread with the other. It's already sort of a Plamegate final week GDT, I think.

There was good content in yesterday's Plamegate thread.

You know this could go as far as looking into the reason for war being false or exaggerated, right?

I can see why you'd want that thread to be buried
