    Starting Rotation
    1.Chris Carpenter: $5 million
    2.Mark Mulder: $7.25 million
    3.Jeff Suppan: $4 million
4.Jason Marquis: $4.5 million (best guess)
    5.Anthony Reyes: $.32 million

    Closer-Jason Isringhausen: $8.75 million

    Set Up-
    Left-Ray King: $2.75 million
    Left-Tyler Johnson: $.32 million
    Middle-Brad Thompson: $.32 million
    Long-Adam Wainwright: $.32 million

    Lineup
    1b-Albert Pujols: $14 million
    2b-
3b-Scott Rolen: $12 million (best guess)
    SS-David Eckstein: $3.25 million
    RF-
    CF-Jim Edmonds: $12 million
    LF-
    C-Yadier Molina: $.324 million

    Bench

    INF-Hector Luna: $.32 million
    INF-
    OF-John Rodriguez: $.32 million

The total salary of all of the certain players on the team payroll for next season is $75.744 million. The spots left open that the team needs stands as follows: Two Set Up pitchers for the bullpen, a starting 2nd baseman, a starting right fielder, a starting left fielder, a catcher for the bench, an infielder for the bench, and an outfielder for the bench. My best guess is that they will set the payroll for $94 million next year. That leaves $18.256 million dollars to spend on 8 open spots. My best guess is that the cost for the two set up men will cost in the neighborhood of $5 million total. Also, I think that they will spend around $1.5 million for the 3 vacant bench spots. That leaves $11.756 million to spend on a starting right fielder, a starting left fielder, and a starting 2nd baseman.

    Now, start the speculation.

Ah, come on, this could get fun to try to predict the team. Pointless at the same time.

Who do you think would be available in the outfield for a trade?

$5 million option or $1 million buy out....making it only "really" cost $4 million to keep suppan this year.

But his salary is $5 million for 2006.

That's the only place I've seen it listed as $4 million. I don't have the links, but I'm 95.5% sure I've seen it $5 million 2 other places.
