    5-2 now.

3 wins in a row. Brad Smith puts on a clinic vs the vaunted 'Black Shirt' defense.

    Offense looking very strong.

Defense still vulnerable but forcing TOs and improving.

    Special teams make me nervous.

There isn't a non-winnable game on the horizon due to the poor Big 12 North.

Dare we jump on the bandwagon and get our hopes up again or is doom and disappointment around the corner?

Yes, get on the bandwagon before the wheels fall off as they always do.

      remaining schedules:

      Missouri:
October 29 at Kansas 1:00 PM ET
      November 5 at Colorado TBA
      November 12 Baylor TBA
November 19 at Kansas State TBA

      Colorado:
      10/22 Kansas 7:00 PM
      10/29 at Kansas St TBD
      11/05 Missouri TBD
      11/12 at Iowa St TBD
      11/25 Nebraska 3:30 PM

It'll be interesting, but I think it still favors Colorado, with that game in Boulder....not to mention 3 of MU's remaining 4 are on the road, where they're notoriously bad.

Yup, no doubt they struggle on the road...but they are against all average to mediocre teams

Winnable games all but they have to avoid mistakes and not get behind

I sure wish we still had those two def tackles that went pro.

Mosely should have stayed another year anyway.

Those Powers teams with Phil Bradley and Wilder were sure fun to watch Guppy.

I was extrememly impressed to see Brad Smith's response to the poor outing last week and subsequent QB "controversey". How about that pass for 1st down in the 4th quarter he made knowing he was about to get majorly popped? That was guts.

480 yards of total offense! Wow. I think they said that was an MU record. And despite the 'Huskers coming in with the #1 ranked rush D (65 yards/game), the Tigers ran for 282.

And what are the chances that we'd win by the identical score we beat NU by 2 years ago?

The number of remaining road games concerns me though. We'll go bowling, but winning the North is still and uphill battle. And whoever wins it will get shallacked in the title game. But I'd take that any day. We need to win SOMETHING.

Here is who Smith passed up today.

Smith moved to second in career quarterback rushing, trailing only Antwaan Randel-El of Indiana from 1998-01, passing Dee Dowis of Air Force and Joshua Cribbs of Kent State. He's also second on Missouri's scoring list with 236 points.

The most yards gained old record was:
471, Jeff Handy vs. Okla. St., 10/17/92 (-9 rushing, 480 passing)

At Colorado is going to be tough. Not sure we can win that one. This team is capable of good things though.

Today made me laugh. I was thinking about all the "Chase Daniel should be the starter" folks at the Post's message board and at the Tigerboard. Who of course were preceeded by the "Chase Daniel isn't all that great folks" that were around in the beginning of the season at those same places.

Too bad the defense isn't very good, but yeah, against that schedule, they could be in every game.

Knowing this program, it's likely no better than 2-2 the rest of the way.

                            1-3 is more likely.

I have a feeling we will be watching that 11/25 v Nebraska rather closely. ISU will be a test for UC. But the Libery Bowl is nice too.
