  • Now Do We Have a Real Rivalry?

I know rivalries take years to build up. But they also take the teams on both sides being handed bitter defeat by the other. The Astros had never really denied us anything -- when we lost the tie breaker and won the wild card, they made it no further.

STL and HOU have won 9 of 10 Central Division championships, and they've faced in 2 straight NLCS with a split.

I think we have a rivalry now.

I've said for a few years now that Cards/Astros is better than Cards/Cubs.

Competitively, of course. Otherwise, I love to beat up on Chicago.

It is. These teams were clearly the two best teams in the NL, and quite possibly remain that way for a couple of yrs.
