  • Dave Henderson

According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Game 5 was only the second time in postseason history that a team facing elimination and trailing in the ninth inning hit a go-ahead home run.

The other time was in Game 5 of the 1986 ALCS when Dave Henderson homered for the Red Sox off Donnie Moore. Boston then promptly won Games 6 and 7 at Fenway to set up the Buckner World Series.

I remember that...Donny Moore. He was a head case..and the favourite son in Boston until Buckner ripped their hearts out.

Lidge will go down as Donny...and I think he is gassed. He's pitched a lot of innings and his ability to spot pitches is shaky. He cant throw that devastating 97mph fastball for a strike and his sinkers are 90mph and hittable.

Momentum has turned..we come home and we are now the team of destiny.

He also had marital problems, but yeah, he never forgave himself for that homer.
