But you need the expensive memory sticks, right?

Yeah, i think you can get the 1gb one for about $100 now, maybe less I haven't looked in a while. The screen is amazing though, as long as you don't let your wife take it with her on trips.

What's the highest capacity stick you can use?

I believe the highest you can get right now is 2GB.

I think I would rather have the iPod as a portable video player. With the PSP you are limited to $20 UMD movies (ridiculous) and a 2 gig memory stick is something like $250 more bucks. That is also nuts.

The iPod has a 30gig hard drive and cost's less then a PSP with a 1 gig memory stick. A 30 gig hard drive will hold a lot of Aqua Teen Hunger Force episodes.
To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of the women.

I want both one for the games and the other for everything else. If you play a lot of games, the PSP is definitely for you. The screen and graphics are both absolutely amazing.

I have a PSP and the games are great. The screen is awesome, but I am not paying $20-$30 for UMD videos that I can only play on the PSP. Also, the battery life on the PSP is horrible. I have to recharge it non stop. I think I am going to ebay my PSP and use the dough to get a video iPod.

A friend of mine was in town from DC last weekend, and he brought his PSP, i played it for about 20 minutes, pretty fuckin cool.
You're being fucking dramatic. You own a TV and an air mattress. That's not exactly what I'd call "a lot to lose."

Actually...you can play DVDs on your PSP.

You have to first rip them onto a memory stick, but it can still be done.
The UMD thing is a scam however, and honestly so is the memory stick. Sony needs to quit using proprietary technology as a crutch and just go with a fscking standard.
"Whaddya mean I hurt your feelings?"
"I didn't know you
had any feelings"

Neither one compares to an Archos for watching movies.

PSP already can show DVDs. Looks great.
When you say to your neighbor, "We're having a loud party on Saturday night if that's alright with you," what you really mean is, "We're having a loud party on Saturday night."
