You'll never believe this, but they haven't finished the game yet.
The Yankees called Good Ol' Bud about 12:30am and told him the field was dry enough to play.
So they postponed the remainder of the Cards game to allow the Yankees and Angels get their game in so it wouldn't impact the remainder of the AL playoffs...

Why do I think that's absolutely possible?
I ended up falling asleep shortly after we got the 7th run. I tried to stay awake, but Miller/Morgan kept putting me under. I feel like I actually get dumber listening to Morgan.

Morgan's insights into the game - and how it's played - are excellent.
His monologues on the merits of a given player are Hraboskyesque.
And, frankly, it has never occured to me that "winning" a debate is important, or that I should be hurt when someone like Airshark or kah, among others (for whom winning a pseudo debate or declaring intellectual superiority over invisible others is obviously very important) ridicule me.
I just get really weary of how he jumps on something and then won't let go. For example, he must have said 50 times last night that Woody Williams had "good stuff." Then, after Williams gave up five runs, he amends it to, Woody has good stuff but just missed on location. Well, gee, doesn't that mean you don't have "good stuff?"
And it seemed like the more the Cardinals hit Williams, the more Morgan tried to back up his original statement. But I would stand in a long line to listen to Joe over Al.

I'd chalk some of that crap up to trying to hold the audience.
You'll see announcers press to read something that isn't there.
The truth is that any team can beat us if they can hold our offense to 2-3 runs in 7 innings.
He was hoping like hell Woody could.
But, the Padres couldn't do that. The die was cast with Peavy's meltdown in Game #1. But, telling that sort of truth won't get you ratings.

That's what I thought too. Once he made such a silly statement by saying that Williams was throwing good stuff, he had to keep defending himself over and over and over and over and over and over.........
