  • Making a movie from "3 Nights in August"?

Ok, I've heard more than one reference about this, ranging from Sports Illustrated to radio/tv. However, I never could figure out if this was true.
In his latest article on ESPN.com about Tony La Russa, Jerry Crasnick writes, "Cardinals manager Tony La Russa isn't best-selling book material and a future Hall of Famer because of his engaging personality. Let's put it this way: When they cast La Russa in the film version of "Three Nights in August," Tom Hanks will take a pass."

Ok, so I know this might not be hinting at an actual movie and is just using that for comparison, but I wouldn't be asking this if I hadn't heard it elsewhere.

Has anybody heard anything for certain on a potential movie?

Writer/Director/Comedian/actor Keven Pollack has met w/ LaRussa on a few occasions to discuss a potential screenplay and movie based on his book....

. . . and to tell you this: I work with gays, have friends who are gay, go to church with gays. Most of them are aware that I believe that homosexual behavior is sin. Some of them actually agree. Most don't. It's OK . . . because they also know or at least have been made aware of my multitude of sins: adulterous heart, lustful and covetous behavior, wicked pride, angry spirit . . . do I need to go on?

I wish we could assign actors to each different player on that team and photoshop their faces to the players' bodies.

                    Lovin it..

"We're not real fond of relaxing and being comfortable," La Russa said at his postgame press conference.
The things that will destroy America are prosperity-at-any-price, peace-at-any-price, safety-first instead of duty-first, the love of soft living, and the get-rich-quick theory of life. -TR

If you couldn't get Bronson Pinchot, my 2nd choice would be Scott Baio...
