You can complain about the sound, and the signal and my overdoing it on mentioning ESPN 1380, but don't tell me the content isn't strong. Because that's 100 percent BS.
For cripe's sake, we're dishing scoops and news and advancing stories all over the place.
I guess we can do a show where we talk about strippers and penis enlargements and what we ate for dinner and the Top 10 all-time films about midgets if you'd like.
And the actual amount of commercials aired -- the number of breaks -- is standard... about three 4-minute breaks per hour, not counting sports updates, which aren't commercials. And this is a hellofa lot less than what KMOX did for breaks when I worked there. So the accusation that there's non-stop commercials is complete rubbish.
You have to understand that I am repeating 1380 ESPN frequently becase I am at a new station, and I am trying to get into the habit of making sure I say the thing the way it should be said -- rather than lose attention, and say, for instance, "You're listening to KMOX." Which would be a common mistake for someone who just switched stations.
Today we started a new thing, a sports roundtable discussion show, and we had some flow issues, and they will be resolved. But imagine that: a show that's 4-days old needing to work out some kinks.
I'll gladly accept constructive criticism -- but there ain't a sports show in town that comes close to providing the SPORTS content we're doing on a daily basis.
And for those who prefer the Grind -- good for you. Listen to it. That's the freedom of choice. Enjoy yourself.
