• Almost scored a $25,000 hole-in-one today

Hit a foot short -- backed up 2-3 inches. Damn!

I could have retired to the Cayman's on dough like that.

Ok, I'm done being an attention whore. Thanks for your time.

I'm a terrible golfer.

But I came close one time. My tee shot hit a tree and bounced to within a foot of the cup.
LONG LIVE THE NOTE!

Glen Echo CC #6. I think it was 162 -- downhill -- pin back. Hit a 5-iron perrrrfect. I knew it was good right away, but I wouldn't let my mind entertain the possibility right away. As it started coming down, I could see it was right on line. Then it just hit and stuck. Everyone watching yelled out "OH!!!".

The people putting on the scramble were nice enough to give me a $50 gift card to Golf Discount just because I was so close. Maybe I should have done it on the closest-to-the-pin hole instead. But that's not as good a memory/story.

Playing in a scramble one year and they have this Ranger Fishing Boat set up next to one of the 3's as prize for hole-in-one.

I proceeded to put my tee shot in the boat.

I tried to convince them I was a winner.

Close only counts in hand grenades and horseshoes, unfortunately.

That sucks, phantom. You'll get it next time.

#7, the "Windmill" hole @ Par-Tee?
. . . and to tell you this: I work with gays, have friends who are gay, go to church with gays. Most of them are aware that I believe that homosexual behavior is sin. Some of them actually agree. Most don't. It's OK . . . because they also know or at least have been made aware of my multitude of sins: adulterous heart, lustful and covetous behavior, wicked pride, angry spirit . . . do I need to go on?

great hole....where was the pin today?

The real question is did you make the putt? That green slopes hard from back to front and from right to left.

The pin was back left. The 15 inch put was straight up hill. I just walked up and tapped it in. There wasn't much pressure given 3 other guys in my scramble foursome had a shot at the putt.
