    all could be classics..

    About the Cards series--
Peavy vs. Carp-- will depend on whether or not Carp is on his game. Peavy will be tough.
Astacio vs. Mulder-- this one should go to us.. even if it is a slugfest.
Morris vs. Eaton-- im surprised that they have morris here instead of soup.. i wonder if this is official.

If we can't beat Pedro f-ing Astacio, we don't deserve to win the series...

He was the best Coors Field pitcher ever, although that was years ago.

I'm a little leery of him.

Well, the pitching-rich Rangers cut him a few months ago.

.811 OPS against, 5.01 ERA on the road this year.

              Who knows..
It sounds an awful lot like Jose Lima's story, who handled us during last year's playoffs.

I hope he does well. Odd that I find myself pulling for the Yanks, but I just can't stand the Red Sox these days. Shawn ended up 7-3, 2.78 for the Yankees this season. He'd have been a good get for what the Rocks received from the Yanks (nothing - OK: 2 AA pitchers with 'live arms'), but I can see that he didn't fit our needs very well.

That makes absolutely no sense. I bet ya they change it.

                      Woody to start Game 3

                      Williams vs. Morris.

                      Got to love that matchup.

Bochy said he'll likely come back with Peavy in Game 4.

                      Astacio in Game 2.

Eaton came out of yesterday's start with some shoulder stiffness so the Padres want to be careful with him but they expect he could go on Game 5.

I think the White Sox left Brandon McCarthy off of their 25 man roster. If this is true, it's a huge break for the Red Sox. Thanks, Ozzie!

That's the word up here (or I guess "out here" to you). I don't really get it, but hey...everything he's touched has turned to gold so far this year.

I don't understand Morris in Game 3....has Tony explained any of this? Doesn't he have a press conference today?

I hope they go with Soup in Game 4 (if necessary) and hold Carpenter for Game 5 (if necessary). My confidence level is not very high re Carp on short rest.
