  • Fleming's in Frontenac

Went there Friday night as a change of pace from Citizen Kane's.

    We split an appetizer.
    We split a salad.
    Two entrees.
    Split a dessert.
    Three drinks between us.

    Tab pre-tip: $146.

    OW.

If you wouldn't have the foofy drinks, Reggie Cleveland, I'm sure it wouldn't be nearly so high.

Had a dirty martini. It put hair on my chest.

Add $20 for drinks at the Ritz afterward and $50 for the babysitter and it was a $246 night.

And I didn't get laid, although that's hardly newsworthy.

      Boy. WHAT FUN.

I haven't been to Citizen Kane's since moving from Glendale to KC almost 6 years ago.

        How is it doing?

        And where is Fleming's?

What did you expect to pay for a night out in Frontenac? I mean, come on.

I take note that you didn't leave a tip, and that you split numerous foodstuffs. Cheapskate.

There's a Morton's in Clayton or something now, right?

Kane's is doing the land-office business it's always done. Fleming's is right next to Plaza Frontenac.

Yeah, BS, we knew it would be tres cher, but shit....

They probably charged you for the splits, too.

$30 tip, and we split numerous foodstuffs because we were told the portions were huge. They were.

Cheapness is the least of my shortcomings. Quite the opposite.

Did you at least use the opportunity to tell her you're not going to the wedding? Or was this the result of that?

$30 tip is pretty weak on a $146 charge.

$50 would have been more appropriate.

                          Seriously.

RSVP is really late -- 10/14, I think -- so we haven't made any final decisions yet. She's now leaning in the direction of compromise. I think someone at work must have told her half the reception will be checking out the game regardless of who's playing, so common sense is beginning to dawn on her.
