QUOTE(bombay @ Oct 2 2005, 06:01 PM) Quoted post

    * I see that you say in years that he played. So I may be wrong. Don't know how they count that.

They don't...he has "3 in a row" in the record books. I was just making an observation.

Post subject: Another nice stat for Phat Albert...
Leads his league in runs for the third straight year now. Last times that was done?

    -Pete Rose, '74-'76
    -Mickey Mantle, '56-'58
    -Ted Williams, '40-'42
    -Babe Ruth, '26-'28
    -Babe Ruth, '19-'21
    -Ty Cobb, '09-'11

Nobody has ever done it 4 years in a row.

Ted Williams did it in 5 consecutive years he played in...'40, '41, '42, '46, '47

No he didn't. His best run was '40-'40-42. Sandwiched by Red Rolph ('39') and George Cass '43.

Ted Williams did not play due to military service in '43, '44, or '45...so in the 5 consecutive years that he played in he lead the AL in runs scored.
