• Week 4 Fantasy Football Questions

I need to pick up a defense to cover a bye week...(this isn't the Lounge League )...

The top 6 available are:

Tennessee (home vs Indy)
STL (road vs NYG)
Jacksonville (home vs Denver)
NYG (home vs STL)
Denver (road vs Jax)
Dallas (road vs Oakland)

Who do I pick up? Jacksonville?

Also...

Hines Ward is on a bye...

Rod Smith (at Jax)

or

Plaxico Buress (vs STL)?

I'm leaning toward Rod Smith...

1 Tampa Bay Buccaneers DET 93 The Buccaneers co-lead the NFL in interceptions with 6, and that will not bode well for QB Joey Harrington, who recently threw 5 in one game against Chicago.

2 Baltimore Ravens NYJ 92 Had time to think about their 0-2 record during their bye, and will feast on a regressing Jets offense on their home turf.

3 Cincinnati Bengals HOU 91 The Bengals D has lived up to expectations so far as they lead the NFL in takeaways with 16, and should continue to excel against a struggling Texans offense.

4 Buffalo Bills NO 89 Their run defense has slipped without Pat Williams in the middle, but they remain a strong unit (ranked #1 against the pass) and should post solid fantasy numbers against a talented but erratic Saints offense.

5 Indianapolis Colts TEN 88 The Colts defense has been dominant and should continue to rise against the Titans.

6 New York Jets BAL 83 The Ravens revamped offense has been a grave disappointment this season and they won’t likely bounce back against a tough and nasty Jets defense that will be out for blood following a heartbreaking loss to the Jaguars.

7 Atlanta Falcons MIN 79 The Vikings looked solid last weekend, but still aren’t where they should be, and the tough and under-rated Falcons D should get the upper hand at home.

8 Carolina Panthers GB 75 have regressed a bit without Jenkins, but should still be able to handle the struggling Packers offense and will step up at home for Monday Night Football.

9 New England Patriots SD 71 – Are coming off a big win against the Steelers as they handed QB Roethlisberger his 1st regular season loss, and should continue to take care of business at home against the talented but controllable Chargers.

10 Arizona Cardinals SF 68 Can put up nice numbers when the match-up is right, and this is one of those weeks as they host the anemic and mistake prone 49ers offense.

11 Detroit Lions TB 65 Will be well rested while coming off their bye, and could post favorable numbers against the Buccaneers.

12 Minnesota Vikings ATL 61 Are beginning to tap their potential following a strong performance against the Saints, and could surprise this weekend against Atlanta.

13 New York Giants STL 56 The Giants defense is still strong despite a disappointing outing against the Chargers, and they should fare better and bounce back a bit against the Rams.

14 San Francisco 49ers ARZ 55 It is hard not to notice and respect the 49ers current hot streak (generated 2 defensive touchdowns and are ranked third in sacks with 11) and they grade fairly high this weekend against a shaky Cardinals offense.

15 Philadelphia Eagles KC 53 The Eagles are still an elite fantasy defense, but will have their hands full with the dynamic Chiefs offense and slip a bit in the rankings this week.

16 Seattle Seahawks WAS 50 The Seahawks are another team that does well when the match-up is right, and they should be able to handle the erratic and offensively limited Redskins.

17 Jacksonville Jaguars DEN 48 The Jags field one of the best defensive lines in the NFL and they should hold their own against the Broncos run oriented offense.

18 Washington Redskins SEA 45 The Redskins should have a respectable outing against Seattle.

19 Denver Broncos JAX 42 Should make some plays against the Jaguars, but are not recommended if you have better options.

20 New Orleans Saints BUF 36 Impressively registered 7 sacks against the Vikings and rank higher than usual this week as they play a Bills offense that is not doing quite as well as expected.

21 St. Louis Rams NYG 32 Are always good for a few sacks with Leonard Little leading the way.

22 Dallas Cowboys OAK 27 Should force a few mistakes out of QB Collins, but the Raiders will likely get the upper hand.

23 San Diego Chargers NE 25 Always play hard, but will be hard-pressed to do well against the crafty and efficient Patriots offense.

24 Oakland Raiders DAL 20 Bledsoe has exceeded expectations in Dallas, and won’t be intimidated by a trip to the Black Hole.

25 Kansas City Chiefs PHI 15 The Chiefs D is not as strong as believed, and the Eagles will bring out its worst this weekend.

26 Tennessee Titans IND 12 Have been putting up great fantasy numbers (notched a defensive TD in 2 consecutive weeks), but will be hard-pressed to keep up their hot streak against the league’s most dangerous offense.

27 Green Bay Packers CAR 11 Will be mauled by the Panthers, plain and simple.

28 Houston Texans CIN 10 The Texans are the only team without a takeaway.
I may tend to lean towards Buress. Remember McNair had a good game against the Rams defense last week. IMO, Eli Manning is rapidly becoming a star.

Thanks Gents...

Guess I have to cheer for a shootout then in the Rams game...
