Seriously, they sneak in with 86 points, which is still playoff-qualifying because of parity, mainly on the strength of our new G.

I think the Blues are going to be atrocious.

I thought about a month ago that this team could compete for a playoff spot, but these days, after the Tkachuk incident, the injuries thus far in training camp, etc. It is really going to be a bad year.

I have a feeling Jackman's shoulder will prevent him from reaching his potential, and will probably shorten his career. The complete lack of offense might be a problem too. I would predict an even worse record, but I think Lalime is very good.

I think with their defense and goaltending they will be better than some believe but not good enough to keep the streak alive.

So, because of the shootouts, there will be no more ties right?

Is is 2 points for a win and 0 for a loss whether it is a regular loss or a shootout loss? Hopefully, the 1 point for a OT loss has been eliminated.

I really don't see why so many of you rank them so poorly.

Lalime is an improvement over the past few goaltenders, Jackman is going to be strong, assuming his shoulder difficulties won't damage his entire career, and we're going to have enough defense to get by.

I don't think the NHL will be too much different than the days when teams could make it to the playoffs on D alone.

Will they reach their 2003-04 level of 91 points? Most likely not. But I don't think you'll need 91 points to make it to the playoffs this year.

I'll go $5 with anybody that the Blues will finish better than last place in the Conference.
