I have bought two products from the e-series. The price thing is maddening, but it's the nature of modern technology. I paid about 720 for an e-20, which just recorded and played dvds. I bought an e-80h which does everything the e-20 did plus has an 80 gig harddrive---paid less than 500. It will store 110 hours of tv programs. When the drive on the e-20 went out---the repair estimate was 570 dollars. I just noticed it ---flipped it on---it has been unplugged for months---the clock was still correct to the minute. Nothing else on it works. I guess I will finally throw it away. I really like the ram discs. I use five of them for backup when I work.---thirty hours of music. The e-80 stays home---I suspect the smoke might have contributed to the failusre of the e-20.
