Gammons says Willis will win National League Cy Young

On the Dan Patrick show, Gammons just said that Willis will win the National League Cy Young for two reasons:

1) People know Willis. Carpenter is just efficient.
2) Willis has carried the Marlins this year.

Hate to say it, but with Willis pulling into a narrow lead with Carp's last three subpar starts, he probably deserves it.

God, I hate that fucking argument.

Carried them to what, a .500 record? Was Carpenter's carrying of the Cardinals to 100 wins less impressive, given the fact that he was the only consistent starter for the Cardinals all season. Just give the award to the best pitcher. It's not the MVP so there shouldn't be any subjectivity to it. How different would Carpenter's stats look if he pitched in Florida's stadium for half his games?

Actually at this point I'd vote for Willis myself.

Carp has been bad the last couple times out and now his stats are not as good in a very close race.
