Maybe the Steelers should fire their stadium clock operator?

I thought one of the refs was responsible for keeping the clock?

The refs have the ability to keep time on the field but as far as I know, they usually leave it up to the clock operator if nothing is wrong.

Can the win be awarded to Pittsburgh at this point?

Why would it be? The Steelers were the ones who had to scramble to tie the game at the end.

The time gain will make no difference, since both teams used it, and less time would have changed decisions throughout the rest of the game.

                      Good win for NE.

                      I hate the Pats.

I believe it is the umpire that keeps time if there is a clock problem. It could be him or the back judge.

Can't fault the Pats on this if it is the case.

As far as I can tell, only 14 seconds are in question. Here's what would have happened had those 14 seconds run off the clock: the Patriots would've called their plays differently on their final drive and no one knows what would have happened.

                            OR

They would have called the same plays and before the field goal, Brady and the offense would've run up to the line to kill the clock rather than just letting it run all the way down for Vinatieri to kick it with the clock ticking down.

I doubt this made any difference as far as the outcome of the game.

They were 100% on 5th down conversions that year.
