  • Eli Manning-Uhhh I don't think so

I love Karma and/or irony at it's best. The SD Chargers, the team that wasn't good enough for Eli Manning, saying that he wouldn't play for them if drafted, is beating THE SHIT out of the NY Giants who Eli Manning QB fors. I love it. 45 - 23 with three minutes left. Yeah! Punk-ass shit head. Hasn't even played a down in the league and he's dictating who he will and will not play for. I hope he loses every game in his career.

He's not looking so good tonight. Of course the announcers just said that this game is not an example of Manning's abilities or something like that. Blamed it on the Chargers defense being so tough.

I heard that. Idiots! However, if he had a great game, they of course would be giving him the credit.

I agree with SteveI, Eli will be a very good pro QB. In fact, he's already pretty good. He actually didn't play all that badly in the game tonight.

John Elway did the EXACT same thing as Eli (told the Colts he wouldn't play for them) when he was drafted. He ended up in the Hall of Fame, so it worked out okay for him.

I didn't think he played all that badly in the bits that I saw, and that would have been an incredibly tough situation for any QB, given the circumstances. He made some bad decisions with the ball on a couple of occassions, but he made a lot of great throws too. Certainly he's miles ahead of where he was at the end of last season, when he looked uncomfortable and unsure in the pocket. You can see the confidence starting to grow now, and it's just a matter of seeing more things for him to become a a very good QB.

Shootout next week in NY? This is a big game for the Rams and Gents. Whichever team wins will be sitting pretty.

Eli played quite well, actually, after a shaky start. There was one excellent drive in the third quarter where he repeatedly kept the drive alive on third down by using his legs to either move the chains himself or buy himself extra time. His pocket awareness is tremendous.

Also, I wonder if StlJoe hates John Elway as much as he hates Eli.

Is it even SLIGHTLY possible that, when Eli was drafted, it was pretty much a joke of an organization, and that nobody would want to play there?

I understand SD fans being unhappy with his attitude and not wanting to go there, especially given the corner they've turned since then. But do you think, prior to this past season, when SD had a string of bad teams, that anyone *wanted* to go to San Diego?

Eli just made his opinion public. Whether he would have kept with his threat not to play is something we'll never know.

I'm sure he also took into account the Chargers last made the playoffs in 1995 prior to last season.
