Prepositions are not words to end sentences with.

Cheesy joke my grandfather told me a couple weeks ago:

A father and his teenage son are at Harvard on a campus visit. The father asks a Professor, "Where's the library at?" To which the professor responds, "Here at Harvard, we don't end our sentences with prepositions." The father pauses, then responds, "Sorry, where's the library at, asshole?"

Thank you. I'll be here all day.

I plagarized a Cheers episode where Diane dreams that Sam asks her if she ended her proposition to him with a preposition, while he's wearing a smoking jacket, smoking a pipe and reading poetry.

This thread reminds me of a famous newspaper lede (first paragraph). Teacher sentenced to jail. While in jail, he makes a pass at another inmate. He is killed.

The lede was something like this:

Jack Smith, an English teacher who should have known better, ended his sentence with a proposition.
