  • Non Sports: President Email Floating Around

Got this today from a friend in the military:

I hope that this will help

    you during the next

    Election

    Worst president in history?

(The following appeared in the Durham, NC local paper as a letter to the editor.
Please forward to all on your list as this will put things in perspective

Liberals claim President Bush shouldn't have started this war.
They complain about his prosecution of it.
One liberal recently claimed Bush was the worst president in U.S. history.

Let's clear up one point: President Bush didn't start the war on terror.
Try to remember, it was started by terrorists BEFORE 9/11.
Let's look at the "worst" president and mismanagement claims.

FDR led us into World War II.
Germany never attacked us: Japan did.
From 1941-1945, 450,000 lives were lost,
an average of 112,500 per year.

Truman finished that war and started one in Korea.
    North Korea never attacked us.
From 1950-1953, 55,000 lives were lost,
an average of 18,333 per year.

John F. Kennedy started the Vietnam conflict in 1962.
    Vietnam never attacked us.
Johnson turned Vietnam into a quagmire.
From 1965-1975, 58,000 lives were lost,
an average of 5,800 per year.

Clinton went to war in Bosnia without UN or French consent.
    Bosnia never attacked us.
He was offered Osama bin Laden's head on a platter three times by Sudan and did nothing.
Osama has attacked us on multiple occasions.
Over 2,900 lives lost on 9/11.

In the two years since terrorists attacked us,
President Bush has liberated two countries,
    rushed the Taliban, crippled al-Qaida,
put nuclear inspectors in Lybia, Iran and North Korea without firing a shot,
captured a terrorist who slaughtered 300,000 of his own people.
We lost 600 soldiers, an average of 300 a year.
Bush did all this abroad while not allowing another terrorist attack at home.

Worst president in history? Come on!

The Democrats are complaining about how long the war is taking, but...

It took less time to take Iraq
than it took Janet Reno to take the Branch Davidian compound.
That was a 51 day operation.

We've been looking for evidence of chemical weapons in Iraq for less time
than it took Hillary Clinton to find the Rose Law Firm billing records.

It took less time for the 3rd Infantry Division and the Marines to destroy the Medina Republican Guard
than it took Teddy Kennedy to call the police after his Oldsmobile sank at Chappaquiddick.

It took less time to take Iraq
than it took to count the votes inFlorida!!!!

Our military is GREAT! PASS IT ON.

      Grote,

That email reminds me of why I never take Jeff Gordon columns on LaRussa and the Cardinals seriously.
“I’ve always stated, ‘I’m a Missouri Tiger,’” Anderson said March 13 after Arkansas fired John Pelphrey, adding, “I’m excited about what’s taking place here.”

Asked then if he would talk to his players about the situation, he said, “They know me, and that’s where the trust comes in.

        Because you disagree?
When you say to your neighbor, "We're having a loud party on Saturday night if that's alright with you," what you really mean is, "We're having a loud party on Saturday night."

You might want to pass along a history lesson to him.

              * December 7, 1941 Japan attacks Pearl Harbor, Philippines, and Guam; U.S. Pacific fleet crippled.

              * December 8, 1941 President Roosevelt addresses the Congress, asking for a declaration of war against Japan.

              * December 8, 1941 U.S. Congress declares war on Japan.

              * December 11, 1941 Germany and Italy declare war on U.S.

              * December 11, 1941 United States declares war on Germany.

                Well. That was pretty stupid.

President Bush didn't start the war on terror.
Try to remember, it was started by terrorists BEFORE 9/11.
This would be relevant if the invasion of Iraq had anything to do with terrorism or 9/11.

FDR led us into World War II.
Germany never attacked us: Japan did.
Germany declared war on us, THEN we declared war on them. Stupid.

John F. Kennedy started the Vietnam conflict in 1962.
Dwight Eisenhower says hello. Although it is amusing to see conservatives suddenly deciding the intervention in Vietnam was a bad thing, while AT THE SAME TIME defending the intervention in Iraq.

Clinton went to war in Bosnia without UN or French consent.
Number of allied lives lost in Bosnia: zero.

He was offered Osama bin Laden's head on a platter three times by Sudan and did nothing.
                This is a lie.

The Democrats are complaining about how long the war is taking, but...

than it took Janet Reno to take the Branch Davidian compound.
That was a 51 day operation.
Someone should tell this guy that we've been at war for thirteen months with no end in sight.

Our military is GREAT! PASS IT ON.
Is this as complex as thought gets on the conservative side of the spectrum? Yay USA! Woo!

                  Because it is spin.

The worst president label comes from other things aside from the idiotic decision to "liberate" Iraq, like the economy, jobs (cheers for the 300,000 part-time jobs "created" in March because people looking for full-time work finally gave up and settled for part time work!), the Medicare BS, the skyrocketing deficit, a foriegn policy that has turned off some of our old allies, and increased hatred of us in the world, his assaults on civil liberties, and his pandering to the Religious Right, who want the rest of us to become shepherds of the flock and fall in line behind them.

Other than those things, I think Bush has been just terrific.
“I’ve always stated, ‘I’m a Missouri Tiger,’” Anderson said March 13 after Arkansas fired John Pelphrey, adding, “I’m excited about what’s taking place here.”

Its as complex as the "liberal" side of the spectrum gets with its:

                    ITS AMERICA'S FAULT! YEAH!
When you say to your neighbor, "We're having a loud party on Saturday night if that's alright with you," what you really mean is, "We're having a loud party on Saturday night."

If he doesn't believe, just tell him to ask President Bush or George Tenet.
