Sweep of Padres. Pujols home run. Nicollette Sheridan's breakup. Jaimie Martin's first victory.

Something else sweet about that time:

The Missouri Tigers were about to start their second season with Quin Snyder at the helm. A young sophomore named Kareem Rush and a scrappy junior named Clarence Gilbert were about to be joined by a stellar freshman crop that included Rickey Paulding, Travon Bryant, and Arthur Johnson. The future was bright, and that team was good and fun to watch.

2005 was the magic year that Ankiel would be back and the Cards probably wouldn't be a real good team, I thought but we would be pretty young and fun to see. I always looked forward to 2005.

People don't know how forward I looked to seeing Ankiel be a pitcher in the big leagues again.

Almost as much as you looked forward to seeing Ray King be a pitcher in the big leagues again.
