  • "Punk: Attitude" -- on IFC - must watch

Just got through watching most of a documentary titled "PUNK: ATTITUDE"

"Filmmaker Don Letts examines the punk rock movement of the late 1970's"

I was just a kid so I wasn't aware of all the different punk bands back then. This is a very good documentary and has live vintage footage + interviews with band members 20+ years later. Good stuff.

It's on again at 2:00AM CST. TiVo it if you are able.

Yes. All of them. One guy talks about his friend taking him to see The Ramones and the next 24 hours all he could think of was how much he freaking hated them........but then he went back to see them again the next night.

They interviewed a couple of the guys from The Clash. One had horrible "English" teeth and the other must have eaten a band member because he was pushing 3 bills.

They featured The New York Dolls (I think) and some really obscure bands that I'd never heard of. Towards the end, they talk about the bleak years in the 80's and then pick it up when Nirvana hit in the early 90's. Henry Rollins talking is featured quite a bit towards the end of the documentary.

            ---

BTW, IFC is channel 131 on DISH Network.
