  • Stones to perform at Super Bowl XL

The Rolling Stones will be the featured Super Bowl halftime performer at Ford Field in February, the Free Press has learned. Sources close to the band and its new tour said Wednesday that the Stones have agreed to perform at the Feb. 5 game, the Super Bowl's 40th anniversary.

Hopefully the Stones and Ticketmaster aren't charging the attendees the ridiculous service fees they are charging on their tour. Like U2, this is a band I wish would just go away.

Dear God, KBF here. I'd just like to say thanks, once again, for allowing Dusty Baker and I to live during the same time period. Every time I think he's given me his last gift -- overpitching Prior in the playoffs, getting cocky in Game 6 vs. the Angels, blowing another game for the Cubs -- he does something stupid like pitching to Albert Pujols. Thy will be done, baby!!!!!

I like both the Stones and U2 for their music, but both groups do think a bit too much of themselves. They could tone down the attitude a bit. I'd never pay to go see them in concert, especially not for the ticket prices they charge.

God, I hate the halftime show at the Super Bowl. I know why they do it, but I still hate it.

Add the pregame bullshit for tomorrow's game to that list too. Just play the damn game already.

these guys are parody of themselves and don't even realize it...U2 is almost as bad and I have always been a huge fan of theirs....the Stones...hell I didn't like them even in the 70s

Luckily, I'm usually re-filling my chili bowl and getting a fresh beer during halftime.

                          I doubt it.
