The Apple ones are better, but not better enough to justify the price. There are a lot of Mac-heads buying the Dell monitors. Dell has the best cost to performance ratio of anyone making flat screens right now.

From what I hear anyway, I'm not really an expert.

Not necessarily true.

Dell buys their panels from at least 4 different makers.

And Apple doesn't have a 24" LCD out right now.
