Before anyone answers you'll need to indicate if you have access to a smart person or not...

Well of course, first you should downloadBitTorrent. Second, grab a nice cold beer and peruse theBitTorrent info page on WikiPedia. This will give you all of the info that you need plus several great sites to find whatever torrents you may need.

Oh, you also may want to buy a nice 200gb hard drive.

Pretty much all covered here

1) Download a free Bitorrent player (BitSpirit, etc.)
2) go to some sites, like Torrentyspy Minninova IsoHunt that have been listed

That's it,; when you find the torrent that you want and click on it, it will load the Bitorrent player (Pay attention where it downloads them to, or change it and you're off
