Is Ginn even the best receiver on his own team? I don't mean that as a knock on either him or Holmes, but as explosive as Ginn is, I think Homes is the better receiver right now.

Lippa, do you think Gabe Watson warrants that high of praise?

I don't ever remember him really standing out like a 1st team all american should when I've seen him play.

I'm skeptical of alot of the players on these lists, for example where is Adrian Peterson? DeAngelo Williams is a great RB, but if he was in the Big 12 would he be able to put up numbers like he has over the years? I love Ted Ginn, but I think the best receiver at Ohio State right now is Santonio Holmes. Ginn is getting all his praise a year early, I think he'll be a great player for the Buckeyes, but he isn't a Heisman candidate or 1st team all american until next year.

      I guess we'll see.

Looks like we are on the same page. I typed what I thought about Ginn without reading what you typed.

I think Ginn is right up there w/ Hester as one of the best return men in college football though, I've seen he and Hester interchangeable in many publications. I think he is gonna need some polish as a posession receiver though. He can run like the wind, but is he capable of running a route over the middle? Is he gonna be able to play a full season without getting hurt? He was awesome in his 1/2 season last year, but that was only a 1/2 season and his touches were limited (though he got more down the stretch and handled it just fine), there are still many questions to be answered on Ginn. I think he'll be good, its just a matter of whether he'll be one of the best players in college football or not.

Mick Jagger is in better shape than far too many NBA players. It's up in the air whether the same can be said of Keith Richards.

My sentimients exactly with regards to Ginn. Watson's a funny case. Because he was playing the nose in the 3-4 last year, it was hard for him to take over games. His job was mainly to take up space and not be moved. He has the ability to be more dominant if he were playing in a 4-3, but he still has issues with consistency. I wouldn't put him as a preseason 1st team AA, although I suppose he could warrant that praise by the end of the season.

I think Mathias Kiwanuka and D'Brickashaw Ferguson are the two best players in the country. I also think I agree with Maisel about DeAngelo Williams, who I believe is the best pure running back in the country.

I think Ted Ginn and Reggie Bush are more explosive players than they are great players. They're game-changers but is Ginn really a great receiver on a play-to-play basis? I know for a fact Reggie Bush isn't, which is why LenDale White always gets the ball when it's time to gain tough yards.
