  • Bush taking the wrong tact on this ...

Just finished watching his last press conference. He's acting like this is a war.

Perfect leadership style when going after terrorists. Not good when dealing with a natural disaster.

What he should do is let Clinton run the recovery show. This is perfect for Clinton. Clinton's leadership style is more maternal, which is perfect for an issue like this. Bush is more paternal, which is good for military efforts.

If Bush made Clinton the point man on this not only does it create the perception that someone is focused on this alone, but it also gets Clinton's empathy working for the people.

I can't imagine the GOP wants to do anything that could portray Clinton, and by extension, his wife, in a positive light.

            WASHINGTON (AFP) - US
President George W. Bush has picked former presidents
            George Bush and
Bill Clinton to lead fundraising efforts for the victims of Hurricane Katrina, the White House said.

The former presidents, whom Bush put in charge of seeking funds to help the victims of last year's tsunami in Asia, will lead "a similar effort" in response to Katrina, said spokesman Scott McClellan.

Bush was to meet at 3:00 pm (1900 GMT) with his predecessor and his father and formally announce the move, said McClellan.

Well, they need to sit down and shut the fuck up. If they could field a competent leader, they wouldn't need to call Bill off the bench during a national crisis.

Clinton is the right man for the job.
              Are you on the list?
