what would it hurt if they put him on the 15 day DL to give him time to heal, sending simo or Calero out there instead?

I don't think he has pitched enough this spring to be ready. People point out that he sucked last year in the spring but came out strong. But if I remember right, didn't he pitch a full spring last year?

I don't remember last year or if he pitched much in ST.

I didn't watch him very closely last night cos I was doing some work with the pics I took at ST. So I don't have a feeling one way or the other with him although, I would think it would be nice if he had more spring innings under his belt maybe.

          I agree with Chesh...

If it is really a little sore...spot start Simo and move up the rotation..and have Calero take Simo's spot in mid-relief.

I would rather wait a few weeks if that would help...we need him this season..if he doesnt win 15 games..we dont have a hope.

I thought they might bring Haren in if Woody isn't there.

            Or did I read wrong?

              Didn't look ready in Memphis.

It will likely be a long season.
And, frankly, it has never occured to me that "winning" a debate is important, or that I should be hurt when someone like Airshark or kah, among others (for whom winning a pseudo debate or declaring intellectual superiority over invisible others is obviously very important) ridicule me.

I'm afraid you might be right. Do you remember last spring? I remember Woody sucking bad at the end, but it seems like he pitched at least 25-30 innings before that.

                  CC,

I don't see Woody winning more than 10-11 due to health issues.

Morris and Marquis really need to excel for the team to compete.

We may be screwed then. I think Morris will have a good year, since it's his walk year, but I still don't think the Braves would give up Marquis if he was anything special.

                      I think if Woddy sputters...

The real weight of expectations falls more on Carpenter than Marquis...

                      But..if Woody doesnt start..

Would you rather have Simo in the rotation or Haren?? Implications..Calero??

I do think Morris will be good this year.

I am hoping Marquis is reallly good. he could be fun to watch.

I was really high on Carpenter for a while, esp while I was there and got to see him, but I have cooled a little.

I just want Suppan and Carpenter's attitudes to be better than Garrett and Brett's. How's that for lofty expectations?

I'd much rather have Haren in the rotation. He got some good experience under his belt last year and he has been lights out this spring.

Calero still only has thirty some odd innings experience and that knee injury could be a lingering thing. He probably does have better stuff than Simo. They are a lot alike though.

I like Simo in the long relief role better too. I think he proved last year that starting isn't his thing.

                            Crack,

The Braves did trade Jason Schmidt.

                            So, they're not perfect.

                              Uumm,

As Woody's supporter do I have to jump in here and start making excuses?
