    He's over .290 since he got recalled, 7 dingers in about 85 AB.

      I can't imagine management counting on Ankiel replacing Walker or Sanders next season but I'm starting to believe he's going to be on the team as an extra outfielder next season.

        Could be. He needs to try it at AAA first though.

            He wouldn't REPLACE anyone at 1B, but Pujols needs a backup. Right now it's Mabry, but it could be somebody else.

              Sorry but I just don't see Rick Ankiel as a backup first baseman. Let him stay in the outfield with that strong arm. He's a waste at 1b.

                The Diaz experiment yesterday didn't work out to well. He almost killed Gruz going for the high bouncer instead of covering the bag like a 1st basement should.
