Blues Trade Forward John Pohl To Toronto for Future Considerations
    (08-24-2005)

ST. LOUIS – Senior Vice President & General Manager Larry Pleau announced today that the club has traded forward John Pohl to the Toronto Maple Leafs for future considerations.

Pohl, 26, has spent the previous three seasons with the Worcester IceCats in the American Hockey League, collecting 108 points (45 goals, 63 assists) along with 101 penalty minutes in 136 games. He has skated in one career NHL game, making his debut with St. Louis on Nov. 1, 2003 vs. Chicago. A native of Rochester, Minn., Pohl led the NCAA with 79 points (27 goals, 52 assists) in 2001-02 and helped the University of Minnesota win the Frozen Four Championship. The 6-1, 186-pound forward was originally St. Louis’ ninth-round selection, 255th overall in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft.

        Johnny "porn star" Pohl? Nooo!!!!!

If he couldn't make the team this season, and it looked like he wouldn't, he had to go.

Is this guy a stiff that would have never made it to St. Louis or is he a legitimate prospect? Not sure why the Blues would trade him if he had any chance of getting here.

Guess I just answered my own question.

He had a really good 1st year at WOR, regressed his 2nd year, and was hurt most of last year. Tough to say, but he is 26 and has only played 1 NHL game. There are about 5 or 6 other guys at PEO who have a better chance at making this club.

Dear God, KBF here. I'd just like to say thanks, once again, for allowing Dusty Baker and I to live during the same time period. Every time I think he's given me his last gift -- overpitching Prior in the playoffs, getting cocky in Game 6 vs. the Angels, blowing another game for the Cubs -- he does something stupid like pitching to Albert Pujols. Thy will be done, baby!!!!!
