Bradley Accuses Kent of Racism

Gee, who woulda thunk a lockerroom with those two might have some problems? Hopefully JD Drew can lead them in prayer, or something."At a time like this, scorching irony, not convincing argument, is needed."

And who would have thought the "race card" would be played?
Really sad because the "race card" is turning in to a "boy who cried wolf" scenario...
It's used so frequently, and so often when it isn't really true, that people are becoming numb to the claim...
The fact that we have a social term - "race card" - is not a good thing...
Hey Milton...just because a white guy and a black guy are at odds doesn't mean it's racist...
Now maybe Bradley's right...maybe Kent is prejudice...has he had problems with the other non-white players?
If not, maybe he just thinks Milton's a dickhead...he wouldn't be the first...
The term "race card" should be voted most over-used and most over-abused term of the first decade of the new millenium...right now...we don't need to wait 5 years...
The people that use it loosely, frequently, and inappropriately are to blame...
Unfortunately, the cases where it's valid and true lose some credibility due to the propensity to use it any time people of different races are at odds..." Look, forget the myths the media's created about the White House--the truth is, these are not very bright guys, and things got out of hand."

I don't know what they said either, but given that Kent's pretty much a complete asshole, one can't rule out the possibility that Bradley has a legitimate complaint.Official sponsor of the St. Louis Cardinals

It seems like they're both pricks, but... Bradley makes at least two racial generalizations himself: white people never think of racsim, and the reporters talked to him first because he's black. Not great credibility.
Plus, he accuses Kent of not being an effective off-the-field leader because he can't relate to non-Motocross magazine reading white guys. He never called him a racist."At a time like this, scorching irony, not convincing argument, is needed."

And seriously, what the hell does this mean:
" `White people never want to see race -- with anything. But there's race involved in baseball. That's why there's less than 9 percent African-American representation in the game. I'm one of the few African-Americans that starts here.' ''
There are relatively few blacks in baseball because... why, exactly? Care to make good on your innuendo?
Jackie Robinson dealt with racism; Milton Bradley dealing with Jeff Kent is a couple of dipshits in a lockerroom."At a time like this, scorching irony, not convincing argument, is needed."

Well, it's not "innuendo" that there are few blacks in baseball, it's a fact. And there's more than a little truth to the "white people never want to see race" line. Look at this thread, and see how many people are assuming Milton Bradley is talking out of his ass when they have no idea what Kent said to Bradley.Official sponsor of the St. Louis Cardinals
