My first question would be, is this effective immeadiately or is this just what they are planning on doing upon the last day of the season. I thought the re-play of the game wouldn't be until the monday after most teams' seasons were over anyway.

From what I understand, the game was to be made up on Labor Day but the White Sox would have then had to play around 20 games in a row without a day off so they decided to forfeit instead.
