  • Rams-Chargers Post-Mortem

Other than "the defense looked shitty," someone want to break down the players in the game? Did Terrell really look that bad?
On my mind: How can I shut up the singing English graduate student? How many more lossess will KU's basketball team have than its football team? How will the Rams front office screw up this year?

Chiguy ... the defense looked shitty.

        Very shitty.

We moved the ball well in the air and our oline did pretty well. Alex was abused.

Special teams did look good, though.

I was impressed with Holt, Bulger and Jackson.

Smoker was hilarious. He tripped on three straight plays.

Did Martz forget the score at any point of the game?

I thought that Bulger, Jackson, Harris, and Curtis all looked really good on the offensive side of the ball. Corey Ivy stood out to me defensively. The defensive line was unable to put any real pressure on the Chargers' QB's. When there was pressure, it came off a blitz. The D-line was also getting blown off the line of scrimmage on running plays. The right side of the offensive line looked pretty solid but the left side was bad (Barron and Terrell).

Well, he did call a timeout to verify the score once, yes. I'm pretty sure that was right before the safety.

Sum it up in one sentence: Martz needs to learn to run the ball more and the defense needs to learn how to tackle low...

So, the DL looked crappy. How did the LBs and Safeties look? It sounds like Arch was embarrassed by Tomlinson last night.

Can't stand PRE-season. However, Demetrius Johnson and
his sidekick JC were beating up on the Rams TV and radio
crew pretty bad on DJ's radio show Sunday night. I seem to
recall the words "horrible" and "awful." He had some unflattering
things to say about Jay Sr. and Jackie Slater in particular.

And who are are we blessed with but a call by Rich from
Maryland Heights who puts the entire blame on the Mizzou
                        coaching staff for the death of the young man O'Neil[sp?}

Then this idiot says, and I quote, that the death "MIGHT HAVE
BEEN A GOOD THING" to emphasize awareness. I wanted to
reach my hand through the radio, locate his throat and squeeze
until he could talk no more.
