  • Albert will be ok now

That was terrible---all we needed was a fly ball deep enough to get the run home.
And there was the shattered bat last Sunday in the ninth in Chicago. Albert is about 3 of 16 with anyone on base the last 8 games. More often than not, he comes up with the bases empty. I have thought he needed to bat cleanup for a few days just to get out of the rut.

I think he has been pressing---trying to do too much.

Edmonds picking him up was big. I expect him to go on a tear the next ten days. Batting third, of course.

it's rude to put him on a time schedule.

It does not matter much if he doesn't---he will later. I just have a feeling he will this week.

I would like to see Albert's average in the 7th, 8th and 9th innings with RISP. Not to bitch, but just to see if that's really a weakness like it has seemed in the last month or so.

and even the best have to keep going. He has the last piece that many don't have. He takes good to the next degree and I have no business telling him to try harder cause I never did.

Would the "close and late" stat work?

I think the best thing to do with Albert Pujols is leave him the hell alone and let him hit.

                            Albert is the likely MVP

Runs in innings 1-6 count the same as runs in innings 7-9

                            So

                            Go Cards ...12 in 13.

if they did, we'd have 9 closers.
