I guess last nite was his last game. Not sure I understand why they are saying that since I thought the Rangers had 2 more games.

Nevertheless, a great player and one that I would consider in the top 5 of all time.

To me he was better than Gretzky. He would actually throw a check, take a hit, and battle for the puck in traffic. Plus he led the Oilers and Rangers to the Cup without Gretzky.
    LONG LIVE THE NOTE!

Yeah I figured that, but knucklehead Melrose kept saying "last game."

I should know better than to trust anything he says.

He's still playing? I thought he retired 4-5 years ago...at least it looks like it when he's on the ice.

I thought I heard he wasn't going to play in the Rangers last two games this season. He didn't play on their recent road trip because of his injured elbow and he wanted his last game to be at MSG.

Man, his career began when I was in the second grade. I turn 30 in a couple of weeks and he's just now retiring. Wow.

            Messier rocks....

He arguably should've retired a few years back, but he kept chugging along and made a nice splash this season....

they broke the mold when they made him....

            Mess, we'll miss ya....

that would suck if he didn't finish, but i guess i could understand it too.

He hasn't looked that way this year at least.

He's going out in style, albeit on a crappy team.

A great combination of skill, speed, toughness, and heart.

Must admit...haven't watched the Rags this year. That team is proof that money can't buy you a good team.
